Position Summary
Handshake is looking for renewable energy and microgrid engineering professionals to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This is not a traditional job. You'll draw on your hands-on experience with renewable energy modeling, microgrid design, and asset performance analysis to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand renewable energy engineering workflows and practices. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside anything else you have going on.
Core Responsibilities
- This project involves using your professional experience and hands-on knowledge of the tools you use in your daily work to create expert-level training data and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance.
- No prior AI experience required.
Qualifications
- Eligible degree levels: Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D's, and Postdocs.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in renewable energy engineering, microgrid design, or asset performance, in roles such as: Microgrid Engineer or Renewable Energy Engineer, Solar Engineer or Renewable Energy Modeler, Digital Twin Engineer or Asset Performance Manager, Or equivalent roles in the energy industry.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: HOMER Pro, SAM, GE Digital Twin.
- Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams.
